Peninsula Green Rugby Football Club Facts  

  • Rugby Home field:  Woodside HS main football stadium field
  • The  Pen Green Rugby Club is the premium team on the SF Peninsula (Ranked 4th in the USA for High School teams for the 2016 season) and draws players from Schools throughout the San Francisco Peninsula.  The Club plays one of the most competitive schedules in the nation within Rugby NorCal.
  • The  Peninsula Green Rugby Club is one of two clubs that form the Peninsula Rugby ClubThe  Pen Green Rugby Club manages and fields the High School teams for the Peninsula Rugby ClubThe  Peninsula Razorhawk Youth Rugby Club manages and fields the 5 yr old through Middle School (14 yr old) teams for the Peninsula Rugby Club.  The two clubs work together to share coaching, to promote rugby and to provide a long term experience for youth rugby players.
  • The  Pen Green Rugby Club coaches are experienced rugby players and coaches.
  • The  Pen Green Rugby Club teaches rugby fundamentals to all players and develops players to the elite playing level.  In the last 20 years there have been 18 players on USA Eagles (USA Rugby National Teams).

    • High School Varsity A – Juniors, Seniors (This team plays in the NorCal Premier League at the top level. Frosh/Sophs may move up to the Varsity teams)
    • High School Varsity B – Juniors, Seniors (This team plays in the Premier League against other B level Premier League teams)
    • High School JV (Freshmen, Sophomores)
  • Peninsula Razorhawk Youth Rugby
    • U14 – Under 14 year olds (Middle School)
    • U12 – Under 12 year olds
    • U10 – Under 10 year olds
    • U08 – Under 08 year olds
  • Season and Practice
    • Practice  - Oct to Aug (practices from Oct to Dec before the season starts)
    • Rugby 15s Season – Jan to May
    • Rugby Sevens Season - Jun to Aug
The Peninsula Green Rugby Football Club practice sessions are open to both returning players and players who are new to rugby. The coaches teach and reinforce rugby basics (passing, catching, rucking, tackling, scrummaging, line out play, etc.) and build the practice schedule to include team offense and team defense in order for the team to be able to play as a team when game play commences in January.
